Temperatures are expected to drop slightly during Monday and Tuesday as some fresh snow reaches the resort area.
Saturday’s moderate winds have likely formed wind slabs on south-facing slopes in the high alpine, while wet loose avalanches remain likely at lower elevations, as daytime temperatures are still around 0 °C.
Keep an eye on how much new snow accumulates over the coming days. Any observations regarding this, as well as the effects of recent winds, are very welcome!

On March 22-23 significant amount of graupel was deposited across various elevations and aspects (at least 3-5 cm at 2000 m. with more higher up) where it was later covered by some 20-25 cm of fresh snow at higher elevations.
Below that sit 30 - 40 cm of new snow of March 15th and 16th storm that was shifted by strong N and NW winds. Deeper in the pack, hard old wind slabs and thin facet layers sit above a sugary base layer, found in isolated areas. The snow depth is often over 200 cm. (up to 250 cm at 3000 m.) In shallow areas, weaker snow can be seen in shady high elevation locations.
Air temps are dropping slightly: -1C to 4C on Sunday -2C to 0C on Monday and even lower - to -5C on Tuesday morning.
Constant cloud cover with thick fog at the resort level on Monday.
Precipitation with freezing level gradually dropping from 2400 to 2050 druring the forecast period.
Around 15-20 cm of fresh snow is likely to accumulate higher up (roughly above 2200 m.)
No significant winds are forecasted for the next three days.
Bad visibility is still our everyday reality.
Remember about graupel layer above 2500 m. roughly 20-25 cm deep in the snowpack - this layer might still be active in some isolated areas: existence if this layer was observed in the snowpits done during the last week.
Glide cracks and glide avalanches are likely and can produce large avalanches - don't stop underneath cracks, or just avoid these areas completely!
