The new snow of March 15 and 16 was moved by strong N and NW winds - this layer is now much more stable, but pockets of wind slab still remain. Lower elevations and sunny faces could see more loose wet activity, as the freezing level rises on Thursday. Deep slab avalanches also remain possible in isolated areas, on shaded aspects at high elevations. Level 2 means human-triggered slides are still possible, so choose your lines carefully.

Loose wet activity seen around Lomisa area, many size 1, some up to size 2
Multiple - A widespread avalanche cycle occurred during and after the previous storm, with storm slab, wind slab, and loose wet slides, size 1 - 2 seen in many areas. A couple were human-triggered, some were triggered by explosives, and some were natural.
Riders dropping into steep avalanche terrain outside the ski area boundary off the top of Kudebi triggered a wide windslab avalanche. Luckily it was not deeper and it stopped quickly - nobody was harmed.
30 - 40 cm of new snow from March 15th and 16th was shifted by strong N and NW winds. It lies above various old surfaces including hard, wind-pressed snow, sun crusts, and weak surface hoar / facets. Deeper in the pack, decomposing previous storm snow, hard old wind slabs and thin facet layers sit above a sugary base layer which is present in certain areas. Propagating results were seen on this base layer on an ECT test, 2950 m, N aspect, 13/03. The snow depth is often over 200 cm, but in areas where the depth is less than 150cm, this deep layer could be triggered.
Fine with some clouds on Thursday and a little snow coming in on Friday afternoon. Light S or SW winds, freezing level 2600m Thursday, 2200m Friday.
Low visibility Friday afternoon. Rocks and objects will be covered by a soft new snow layer.
Glide cracks and glide avalanches are active and can produce large avalanches - don't stop underneath cracks, or just avoid these areas completely!
